Break ke Baad

this post is due almost 2 days ago... and now three..
i was jus about to step out of the house.. (minutes after stepping in), when something on the telly caught my attention - of course an ad. this chap all dressed up as harry potter in his quidditch robes, broom and all was flying alongside a bike speeding on winding ghat roads.. this chap lands in a filling station, holding out a hose. the biker turns him down and manoeuvres more curves nimbly, all the while the whispering in the backgroung sounding - "Koi Mil Gaya"(??!!??).. and as a tunnel looms ahead, the bikers jumps off his vehicle, grabs the chap and lands back on the bike. the broom however crashes into the tunnel's roof(and for some reason, beyonf the comprehension of a rational mind - blows up, ya it jus explodes into a ball of fire.. ) boy, rider and bike emerge happily out of the other side of the tunnel... BAJAJ Discover D-TSi... wat??? this after tht cute Jackie Chan thing ?? now here was a spoof of Harry Potter(the opening scene, which i caught later, in fact shows something of Hogwarts castle) and Koi Mil Gaya .. There were pretty good spoofs(come summer, and the way the cola giants make fun of each other, stands testimony to my statement).. but this was plain bad... seriously, i thot ad amking at bajaj was growing with tht ad they had when they'd modified the logo(the whole indian heritage thing - where bikers zip around trying not to disturb kolams...), avenger(i forgive my barber.. feel like god.. frankly kick-ass), the unforgettable Hoodibaba teaser, the action packed sequences of Pulsar DTSi(there were two..)

O and btw, this ad faintly reminded me of the Karizma ad,... wonder if tht was intentional too...

An ad to me is something that has always held my undivided attention. my love for them grew with me. I now have a decent collection of international ads, some of them winners of various fests like the Cannes. and so in the eternal words of the BigB on the KBC.. here's a blog dedicated to the mad-ad world..

Beginning with the ad of one of my dream cars - TATA Safari, here's a series of print ads tht hit the papers..
